On Friday March 14 members of the AFS leadership team, David Rice, president and CEO, Justin Atwater, chief legal counsel and Chris Sheard, pharmacy operations manager, visited Benedict’s Market and met with Harriett Hageman, Federal Congresswoman for the state of Wyoming.
Hageman, a seasoned lawyer and cattle rancher found much in common with Jim Benedict, who ranches part-time when he is not running his grocery store in Mountain View.
The group included the pharmacy owner from City Drug, Andrew Cannon.
Discussions included conversations regarding the need for Robinson Patman enforcement, requesting that power buyers follow the law with fair buying practices, and asking for reform from the manipulative practices of pharmacy benefit managers.
Hageman spent significant time talking with the team, touring Benedict’s, the adjacent Ace location and City Drug located within Benedicts.
“It was a fantastic opportunity to meet with Congresswoman Hageman- we discussed meaningful topics that impact the independent grocer and pharmacist,” said Jim Benedict. “We look forward to collaborating with her in the future.”
