The Macey’s grocery store in Pleasant Grove is in the final stages of an extensive remodel, with a grand opening scheduled for September 25. The project has steadily progressed over the past several months, and the team has already reached several key milestones.
As part of the upgrades, a new Starbucks is now fully up and running and guests are thrilled about the convenient, new place to enjoy their favorite beverages and snacks. The pharmacy was successfully relocated to a more accessible spot within the store and now includes a drive-thru, ensuring continued service to the community. Additionally, the America First Credit Union branch moved to its new location within the store and is now open for business.
“Remodeling a grocery store involves hundreds of moving parts, from relocating key departments to ensuring the construction process doesn’t disrupt daily operations,” said Jan Whiteley, director of construction. “We are fortunate to have a tremendous team that works so hard to ensure everything is on schedule. We’re so excited to see the final product come together.”
Now through the next few weeks, the focus includes the installation of new décor. Décor plays a significant role in the updated store’s aesthetic and ensures guests have a great first impression. According to Elizabeth Barnett, senior marketing specialist, the remodel will improve both the functionality and visual appeal of the store.
The décor, which was developed in partnership with Decorworx, is designed to create a fresh and welcoming atmosphere for shoppers and deliver on the promise of “Happy Shopping.” Elizabeth, who oversees the store’s new look and branding efforts, shared insights into the design process.
“Our goal with the new décor is to blend modern elements with the friendly, hometown feel that makes Macey’s special,” said Elizabeth. “We want our guests to feel comfortable and inspired as they shop, and we believe these updates will accomplish that goal.”
