Macey’s Pleasant Grove was honored last week with a “Hero’s Award” from the Pleasant Grove and Lindon Chamber of Commerce for its outstanding community service during the holiday season.
The award recognizes Associated Retail Operations’ (ARO) donation of more than $35,000 in food—amounting to 12 pallets—and its efforts to raise funds at the register to provide 600 Christmas dinners as part of the Harvest of Hope Food Drive in November. The event was celebrated at the Chamber’s Annual Awards Gala held last week, an occasion that also honored Tabitha’s Way North for its contributions.
“This recognition by the Pleasant Grove – Lindon Chamber of Commerce represents the work of so many,” said Greg Welling, vice president of retail operations for ARO. “Special thanks to the American Fork, Lehi, Pleasant Grove team for their efforts in maximizing the Harvest of Hope program. Our front-end teams are passionate about Harvest of Hope because it directly supports their guests and communities. We also have many support team members who helped coordinate a donation of this size, the center store team, produce, bakery, meat, systems team, CRM team, Pleasant Grove store and leadership all coordinated to make sure we had the right product for 600 Christmas meals. Thank you everyone for displaying our core value of Passion. You made a huge difference in the lives of the community!’”
Greg, along with Joe Howard, Macey’s Pleasant Grove store director, attended a gala to receive the award. The recognition highlights Macey’s, and all of ARO’s, commitment to local partnerships and community support. The store’s collaborative efforts with the Chamber and local donors ensured that families in need received essential support during the festive season.
