The AFS corporate office has been buzzing with excitement as a variety of food trucks have made their way to the premises, offering team members a chance to enjoy delicious and diverse meals while fostering community engagement.
This initiative, spearheaded by Laci Peake, a human resources assistant, began with a series of cold calls and visits to social media pages and email contacts of various food trucks. As she contacted the various food truck business, Laci’s efforts then extended to distributing calendars and menus to surrounding businesses, including the enthusiastic local post office, which increased the enticement for food trucks to make the drive over.
The result – overwhelmingly positive reception from both food trucks and their happy customers, with trucks scheduled through October and many becoming repeat visitors due to the warm reception. “The people definitely like to come and serve a meal and test the waters, and once they see the enthusiasm, they come back,” Laci said.
Laci herself has enjoyed the culinary offerings: “I have tried everything,” she laughs. “The Burnt-Out BBQ quesadilla is my favorite. Their meats are smoked, and you’re getting a lot. It’s two meals for me, when I get an order.” This initiative not only provides a refreshing break from the usual routine but also aligns with AFS’s values of fun and new experiences. “It changes up your day-to-day life, gets you out of your normal, puts you in the sun, plus, it’s fun!” Laci added.
The presence of food trucks at AFS has created a unique opportunity for the corporate office and the local community to come together, enjoy great food, and strengthen connections.
