A sense of tradition and community spirit was in the air Saturday morning as residents of Sandy gathered at Fire Station 32 to welcome two state-of-the-art fire engines to the city. The 40,000-pound custom-designed engines, the Pierce “Enforcer” and Pierce “Responder,” were ceremoniously pushed into the station bay by firefighters and the crowd, continuing a cherished fire service tradition.

Macey’s Market Little Cottonwood, a new store in the Sandy Community, provided fresh doughnuts and hot chocolate for attendees. The store, located directly across the street from Fire Station 32, has had a strong relationship with the local fire department since opening in spring of 2024. Earlier this year, as part of the store’s grand opening festivities, firefighters showcased their creativity during a cake decorating contest in the Macey’s bakery.

Sandy City Mayor, a frequent shopper at Macey’s Market, joined in the celebration, reinforcing the connection between the store, the fire department, and the community.
