Associated Food Stores held a heartfelt ceremony on November 11 in the lobby of the corporate office to honor veterans.
The event began with an energetic reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance, led by AFS team member and veteran, Chad Christensen. Tim Conner, senior vice president of team services, expressed his gratitude to AFS team members who are also veterans, acknowledging their unique perspectives and the contributions they bring to the workplace. His words highlighted the importance of recognizing the sacrifices made by those who serve and the continued impact they have within the community.
Felicia Crosson, senior marketing specialist, then spoke to the gathered crowd, drawing connections between the values upheld by military service—such as passion, heart and teamwork—and the core values of the company. She emphasized how these shared ideals strengthen the company culture and foster a sense of unity.
The ceremony concluded by honoring all team members who have served in any branch of the Armed Forces, followed by a celebratory gathering with patriotic cookies. The event allowed team members to come together in gratitude and pride, paying tribute to the veterans and active service members who embody dedication and service to the country.
