As snow blankets the mountains and holiday lights shimmer across Park City, a remarkable tradition takes center stage at Fresh Market every Christmas Day. While families exchange gifts and share festive meals, a dedicated group of retail team members, volunteers, drivers, and leaders across Associated Food Stores come together to ensure the community’s needs are met during this special time of year.
This year, the tradition continued with heartfelt support from AFS President and CEO David Rice, Division Manager Chris Otteson, and Store Leader Travis Burke. They joined the incredible Fresh Market team in Park City and volunteers from other stores to ensure travelers and residents alike had access to essential goods and services. Their efforts exemplify the commitment of everyone involved in making the holiday season brighter for others.Behind the scenes, the contributions of the wholesale team, drivers and countless others supporting this effort were equally vital. From delivering supplies in challenging conditions to coordinating operations, their dedication ensured success on some of the busiest days of the year.
“I am truly humbled and grateful to witness the hard work and selflessness of our incredible retail teams, wholesale team members, drivers, and others during the holiday season,” said David. “Your commitment to serving our communities—sacrificing time with your own families to help others—represents the true holiday spirit. Thank you for your exceptional efforts.”
This tradition is an example of the values that define Associated Food Stores. The willingness to step up, work together, and put community first showcases the spirit of teamwork that drives AFS during the holidays and throughout the year.
