AFS to Grow Support Team Leveraging Data to Drive Decisions and Sales
At Associated Food Stores, a strategic shift on how the company uses data has begun. With goals to help retailers and the AFS team make quicker, more informed decisions, enhance efficiency and use predictive analytics to better meet guests’ needs, Associated Food Stores is excited about the initiative and the doors the effort opens for the entire organization.
“This effort is critical as we look toward the future and remain competitive in a quickly changing environment,” said Mindy Rich, vice president of analytics and consumer insights at AFS. “Our competition has a lead on us in this area and our ability to close the gap is imperative. We are investing time and resources to ensure our retail members have the information and tools they need to succeed.”
As part of the initiative, AFS is pleased to announce the opening of an Analytics Manager position in the analytics department.
“We are seeking an enthusiastic, talented leader to step into this role,” said Mindy. “We are actively working to build the department and this key leader will play a fundamental part in laying the groundwork. They will lead analysts, work closely alongside me, and act as a liaison between multiple departments—actively understanding their needs and coordinating support.”
The Analytics Manager position requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field. Knowledge of machine learning and predictive analytics is preferred but not required. The right candidate with a drive to contribute and learn may receive upskill training. Grocery industry experience will prove especially helpful in understanding the context of the business.
“Associated Food Stores is a family-oriented, member-owned wholesaler,” said Mindy. “Our purpose is supported by values that are aimed at making this a great place to work. We are passionate about what we do and committed to each other while keeping what matters most in mind. We are incredibly eager to fill this role with an individual who shares these values and goals.”
