It’s no secret 2020 has presented a lot of challenges for our communities. In addition to the pandemic, in Utah, we’ve also experienced earthquakes, hurricane-force winds that caused extensive power outages and wildfires that caused evacuations, to name a few.
In each of these instances, the services of the Red Cross were called upon. They set up emergency shelters for evacuees, provided aid for first responders along with many other services. They have also helped respond to disasters in other parts of the country such as hurricane Sally and the fires on the West Coast.
At Associated Food Stores, we care about the communities we serve and happy to lend a helping hand. We recently provided the Red Cross with a $5,000 donation of needed supplies so are ready to respond when future emergencies arise. Their services are invaluable when disaster strikes, and we are honored to help provide some assistance for their efforts.
Jamie Riccobono, Regional Philanthropy Officer for the Utah/Nevada region shared, “Many families who have lived through these harrowing events have nowhere else to turn. What a wonderful donation from Associated Food Stores!”
