Food insecurity is a real issue in our community. According to the Utah Food Bank, 317,000 Utahns face hunger and 1 in 10 Utah children don’t know where their next meal is coming from. Associated Food Stores with Holiday Oil, The Wagstaff Legacy Foundation and likeminded partners are committed to reducing the gap through initiatives like Fueling Families.
Alongside valued partners like Holiday Oil, The Wagstaff Legacy Foundation, and other like-minded organizations, we are deeply committed to narrowing the gap through meaningful initiatives such as Fueling Families.
This year, Fueling Families played a significant role in making the holiday season brighter for those in need. In conjunction with our Harvest of Hope campaign, Associated Food Stores’ annual holiday food drive, and in partnership with our friends at Swire Coca-Cola, we worked to provide a memorable Thanksgiving experience for families along the Wasatch Front.
Together, these efforts resulted in the delivery of 200 Thanksgiving meals to families selected by local school districts based on their specific needs. Each family received a thoughtfully prepared basket filled with non-perishable essentials, as well as a $50 Food Club gift card to purchase additional fixings for their holiday table.
At its core, the Fueling Families initiative is about more than just providing meals—it’s about offering hope, creating opportunities for connection, and ensuring that every family has the chance to celebrate the holidays with dignity and joy. We’re proud to stand with our partners and community members as we work together toward a future where no one has to wonder where their next meal will come from.
