The AFS Pharmacy Warehouse located in Salt Lake City, Utah was recently awarded reaccreditation status by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP). This reaccreditation is a significant achievement, as it demonstrates the company’s continued commitment to meeting the highest standards of pharmacy safety, compliance, and service. NABP accreditation ensures AFS is operating in full alignment with national regulations.

“The AFS Pharmacy Warehouse is an extremely important resource for our pharmacy membership in sourcing prescription drugs at competitive price points in partnership with the Topco Direct Generics Program,” said Eliseo Faz, vice president of pharmacy administration for Associated Food Stores “We are excited as we continue to buildout both current and future offerings for our pharmacy members, one of which continues to be the AFS Pharmacy Warehouse.”

AFS first received DDA accreditation status in 2021 when it built and opened the pharmacy warehouse during the beginning of the COVID pandemic. Each accreditation period lasts for approximately three years. AFS is one of only a few within the State of Utah to have a DDA accredited facility. DDA accredited facilities operate at a level of best practices and play a critically important role in keeping pharmaceuticals safe and secure within the global supply chain.

“The NABP accreditation process is extremely complex and time consuming, involving various team members within multiple business units of AFS,” said Jared Memmott, director of enterprise risk management for Associated Food Stores. “The joint effort by the many incredibly talented individuals within AFS is amazing and it speaks to the ability of AFS to a achieve a top tier ranking within the pharmaceutical distribution industry. This reaccreditation status allows AFS to continue providing quality pharmaceutical products to our pharmacy members, operating in what is now 20 states throughout the country.”
