Fresh, locally grown produce is now available at Associated Retail Operations (ARO) locations, providing guests with high-quality fruits and vegetables sourced from nearby farms. Currently, the shelves are stocked with locally grown corn, tomatoes, watermelon, and cantaloupe, thanks to partnerships with dedicated local growers and more produce is on the way as harvest season continues.
The availability of local produce is an important differentiator for the company, as it not only ensures fresher and more flavorful products but also supports the local economy and reduces the environmental impact associated with long-distance transportation. By choosing to stock local produce, ARO demonstrates its commitment to sustainability and community support.
“We are thrilled to offer our guests the best local produce from some of the finest growers in the region,” said Danni Barnhart, ARO produce sales manager. “This season, we’re featuring many local growers who are tremendous partners in giving us their very best.”
The local growers for 2024 include Bangerter Farms, Canyon Valley Farms, Hartley Produce, East Farms, McFarland Farms, Ogden Bay Produce, and Pace-Nielsen Farms. These partnerships ensure that the produce available in stores is of the highest quality and freshness.
“Our relationships with local farms are a key part of our strategy to provide guests with superior produce while supporting our local agricultural community,” Danni added. “It’s a win-win situation for both our shoppers and our local economy.”
As ARO continues to prioritize local sourcing, guests can look forward to enjoying the freshest and most flavorful produce, knowing that their purchases support local farmers and contribute to a more sustainable food system.
